The Jacksonville Children's Chorus Returns from Tour to Greece and Turkey
The Touring Choir of the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus (JCC) has returned home from an extraordinary Summer Tour across Greece and Turkey—a life-enriching journey for the talented young singers. Throughout the tour, the choir performed at unique and culturally significant venues: Varvaresou Park in Athens, the Church of Saints Constantine and Helena in Volos, the Symposion Cultural Center in Santorini, and a plaza on the harbourfront in Bodrum, Turkey. On her experience singing in Santorini, Alyssa, a Touring Choir singer, shared, “I wasn’t ready for how personal and life-changing this performance would become.” In addition to their performances, the choir engaged with Greek culture and explored the rich history and traditions of the region. The tour created memorable performances and meaningful cross-cultural experiences that will remain with the singers for a lifetime. The Chorus extends its heartfelt thanks to individual supporters. The JCC is especially grateful for the generosity of Congruent Wealth for their support of tour excursions in Athens, Greece. Your generosity created lifelong memories and unlocked educational experiences with cultural landmarks such as the Acropolis. This unforgettable tour would not have been possible without your commitment and belief in the mission of The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus.
