The SING Award
The Annual SING Award is a special honor presented to an individual who has recognized and championed the transformative power of the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus.
The recipient of the SING Award is a person who has invested deeply in the mission of the Chorus. They have offered not only their financial support but also their time, energy, and heartfelt commitment to helping the organization thrive. Whether through leadership, advocacy, or hands-on involvement, they have made it their priority to ensure that the voices of Jacksonville’s youth are heard clearly, beautifully, and with pride.
It is given to someone who understands that when children are given the chance to sing, they are also given the chance to grow, to express themselves, to learn discipline and teamwork, and to connect with something greater than themselves. The SING Award recognizes those rare individuals who stand beside these young artists, lifting them up and helping to build a more vibrant, inspired community through music.

Celebrating Marlyn - 2025 SING Award Recipient
Marlyn’s tireless dedication, leadership, and generosity have helped shape the very foundation of our organization.
Marlyn is the mother of JCC alumna Annie Ogburn, who sang with the JCC for several years starting in 1998. From the moment Annie joined, Marlyn jumped in with both feet, volunteering countless hours to assist with administrative tasks and lend support behind the scenes. Her commitment quickly became indispensable.
In 2000, Marlyn officially joined the JCC staff as Finance Director, a role she held with distinction until 2013. During her tenure, she was instrumental in securing vital grant funding from both the City of Jacksonville and the Jaguars Foundation, bringing in over $800,000 to support JCC programs and provide scholarships for deserving young singers. Her work made an enduring impact, helping ensure the sustainability and growth of the organization.
Marlyn’s vision and initiative also led to the launch of the First Coast Honors Choir Festival, now a beloved annual tradition that brings together talented young vocalists from across the region. In the early days of JCC, Marlyn’s own home study even served as one of the Chorus’s first offices, proof of her willingness to go above and beyond in service of the cause.
Simply put, the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus would not be what it is today without Marlyn Ogburn’s steadfast support, strategic leadership, and deep belief in the power of music to transform lives.

Celebrating Larry - 2024 SING Award Recipient
Larry is the proud father of JCC alumna Elyssa Audije, and his connection to our mission goes far beyond that of a parent. Over the years, Larry has generously volunteered his time and energy, chaperoning our summer tours and supporting our cause every step of the way. His presence has brought comfort, encouragement, and a touch of joy to countless children and families.
As the founder of A Social Affair Dance Studio, Larry has played a pivotal role in the success of one of JCC’s most exciting annual events — River City’s Dancing with the Stars. Through his studio’s partnership, we have been able to host six spectacular seasons of the event, raising over $190,000 to support the mission and programs of the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus.
Larry’s passion for the arts, commitment to youth development, and genuine belief in the power of music have left an indelible mark on our organization.

Celebrating Brian - 2022 SING Award Recipient
In February 2023, the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus finally found a permanent home at 62 Main Street North, a dream years in the making. The beautiful, custom-designed space shaped with the vision of President and Artistic Director Darren Dailey would never have become a reality without the incredible support of VyStar Credit Union and its CEO, Brian Wolfburg.
Thanks to Brian’s leadership and belief in our mission, the JCC was able to return to the heart of Downtown Jacksonville, moving into the newly built VyStar Parking Garage on Forsyth Street. This new home allows us to better serve our singers, families, and the greater community and we are endlessly grateful for the role Brian played in making it possible.
-
Celebrating Virginia – 2021 SING Award Recipient
Virginia has been an integral part of the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus since its founding in 1995, beginning her journey as a passionate volunteer. Her deep love for music and commitment to our singers has been a constant source of inspiration throughout the years.
Though officially retired, she continues to give her time, knowledge, and heart to the JCC, mentoring and supporting our singers whenever she can.
Virginia's impact on our community cannot be overstated. Her passion, generosity, and years of service embody the spirit of the SING Award, and we are deeply grateful for everything she has done and continues to do for the JCC family.
-
Celebrating Paul - 2020 SING Award Recipient
Paul became part of the JCC family after being assigned to photograph a Chorus event for the Florida Times-Union—and quickly fell in love with the organization. From there, he came on as a volunteer, spending years showing up with his camera to capture everything from major concerts to quiet behind-the-scenes moments. Then, long after the music stopped, he’d spend hours editing each photo, making sure every image told the story just right.
He did it all out of love for the Chorus, never asking for anything in return. Paul’s photography helped shape how people see JCC—full of life, energy, and heart. Though he’s no longer behind the camera, his work lives on in the memories he helped preserve. This award is just a small way to say thank you for everything he gave.
