The Treble Choir is open to boys and girls in fourth through twelfth grades who perform at an intermediate level or are advancing Training Choir members. Singers receive 60 hours of instruction focusing on healthy vocal production and the development of music reading skills through unison, two-part, and even three-part literature. Aural skills are strengthened through the use of ear training, solfege and sight-reading exercises.
The choir works with music chosen for singers of this age which may contain challenges like a foreign language – it’s also fun! Singers perform several times during the year, including major seasonal concerts and other community performances.
Auditions are held by appointment May through August for the following school year. There is no fee to audition. Full and partial scholarships are available based on financial need.
